ZNBC Director General Berry Lwando has dispelled information circulating on online media platforms that government and the ZNBC board has directed management to dismiss presenter Margaret Chisulo over the language incident that happened on open line television programme on 30th April 2024.
Mr Lwando says ZNBC has internal policies and guidelines that allow the corporation to attend to internal and external issues.
He stated that at no time did the Minister of Information and Media Cornelius Mweetwa or the Board instruct ZNBC to dismiss MS.CHISULO.
Mr. Lwando said the unfortunate incident over the use of local languages on English channels has given the corporation an opportunity to introspect and review its internal processes especially those touching on programme production.
HE said ZNBC takes responsibility of the incident on the premise that since open line had received two calls in vernacular, any other caller in vernacular after that should have been allowed to participate.
This is according to a statement issued by ZNBC Head Corporate Affairs Anne Mukabe.
