ZESCO Limited says due to valuable feedback from customers, it is reinstating an 8-hour load shedding schedule to enhance stability and predictability in power management across Lusaka.
In a statement, ZESCO spokesperson Matongo Maumbi says this decision follows challenges identified with the previous staggered schedule, and the Corporation is committed to refining its approach to better serve customers.
He says ZESCO is continuously monitoring and refining the load shedding program to achieve an optimal balance between meeting its customers’ needs and managing its power resources efficiently.
Mr. Maumbi says the schedule in Lusaka is effective tomorrow 15th April 2024.
The company has urged the public to focus on using energy-efficient models for appliances like refrigerators, stoves, air conditioners, and washing machines.
