The Rural Electrification Authority has called for enhanced inclusion of women in the energy sector.
REA Chief Executive Officer Linus Chanda says the energy sector must evolve to become truly inclusive by dismantling barriers that discourage women’s participation in the industry.
He says to achieve equality in the sector, relentless advocacy and commitment from both women and men, industry leaders , policymakers is required .
Speaking at a workshop in Lilayi aimed at promoting female led businesses in the Energy Sector today ,Engineer Chanda says REA will explore value addition strategies that can enhance women’s products and services to make them more competitive in the global market.
