There was a near fracas in Lusaka’s Jack compound when the irate residents threw stones on the Lusaka City Council public health Officers who were conducting an operations in Chawama constituency today.
And the Lusaka City Council Police officer managed to thwart the unruly residents by firing teargas.
The Public Health inspection Team from the Lusaka City Council have been conducting the routine public health inspections in various parts of Lusaka for residential businesses.
The council also confiscated assorted types of beer worth thousand of kwacha due to none compliance levels.
Speaking during the operation LCC senior public health inspector, Haggai Siyunda says some drinking places are operating without valid liquor trading licenses, without proper sanitation, selling alcohol in residential areas and opening before the stipulated hours.
He says the council is enforcing the regulations in the public health Act cap 295 and liquor licensing act hence the need for the operation.
