Chinese community takes interest in playing golf

The Chinese Community in Zambia has taken interest in taking part in various sports activities such as golf.

Over 40 Chinese golf players participated in golf tournament organized by the Good Time Steel Company Limited and Stellar Solar Investments Limited.

Speaking during the opening of the golf tournament at Ciela Resort, Good Time Steel Chief Executive Officer Jibo Huang has urged Chinese companies to promote sports activities in the country and also support the Chinese Association Golf Club.

“Sports is important for our health and wellbeing therefore let more Chinese companies come on board and support various sports for our workers to promote health and enhance workplace productivity” said Huang.

He noted that many Chinese in Zambia doesn’t play golf but it is an important sport because even an 80-year-old person or a child as young as 10 years can play the game and can be played the all year round.

“Companies should endeavor to encourage employees to participate in sports activities instead of playing casino and other native practices because health is more important 

Huang says the company is not support golf only but other sports disciplines such as intercompany relay and football.

And Stellar Solar Investments Limited Sales Manager William Masupelo says the company is  dedicated to combat load-shedding and promoting environmental sustainability through solar energy.

He reaffirmed the company’s pledge to provide affordable solar equipment in support of government initiatives.
