Zambian Ministry of Small Medium Enterprise Development has urged young women with entrepreneurship and business ideas to take advantage of the “She Rebuilds the World Project” and bring their visions to reality.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony of the second cohort of the 70 women ranging 18-65 trained under the project, Ministry Director SME Chinyanta Chukula is gratified that the trained women will have sound and inclusive skills that will help them flourish in the business environment.
“She rebuilds the world Project” is the women’s economic empowerment project financed by the Latvian government aimed at empowering females with business and entrepreneurship skills in Africa.
Mr. Chikula is also elated that “She Rebuilds the World Project” has developed a strong and trustable support with the Ministry of Small Medium Enterprise Development and its line ministries.
Meanwhile “She Rebuilds the World Project Founder” Leva Jacobson says an additional programs have been launched such as a digital literacy program and financial literacy to teach women using digital tools to enhance their businesses.
And speaking at the same event University of Lusaka vice Chancellor Professor Pinalo Chifwanakeni says the institution has a critical role to play throughout the life cycle of particular importance is the provision of support inform of advice on the actualization of the business proposals that the graduates from the program have developed.
The programme provided them with the tools and guidance to refine their business concepts into viable enterprises.
Through a series of interventions, including an intensive three-day boot camp and a complimentary three-month online entrepreneurship course from Riga Business School, participants were equipped with essential skills and knowledge.
The success of the second cohort follows the graduation of 39 participants from the programme’s inaugural event in 2022/23.
