Transparency International Zambia says  access to land by persons with the disabilities in Zambia is a major challenge due to corruption and discrimination.

Speaking at the launch of the Land and Discriminatory Report,TIZ Executive Director Maurice Nyambe says the report focused on Corruption, Discrimination and Access to land for persons with disabilities in Zambia.

Mr. Nyambe says persons with disabilities are unable to afford costs associated with accessing land due to their weak financial position in society.

He says the report also established that administrative bribes are common from officers in  order for people with disabilities to access land.

Speaking at the same event, Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities Senior Rehabilitation Officer Emma Phiri  has called on government to allocate a   specific percentage of land for the disabled.
