The Environmental Assessments Committee of the Zambia Environmental Management Agency Board has approved 168 projects totaling K25 Billion.
ZEMA Director General, Godfrey Mwiinga says this was at its 16th and 17th sittings held in January, February and early March, 2024.
Mr. Mwiinga says a total of 162 Environmental Project Briefs were approved while 6 Environmental Impact Statements were approved during the EAC sittings.
He has commended all stakeholders, especially local authorities who provide feedback towards the proposed projects which aids the Agency’s decision making.
Mr. Mwiinga has also expressed gratitude to members of the public for participating in the Environmental Assessment Process.
