Since its inception in 2021, this landmark event has consistently brought together over 300 dynamic female agribusiness leaders, innovators, policymakers, stakeholders, and speakers from across Africa.

The conference aims to empower women in the agricultural sector by showcasing innovative solutions and fostering a collaborative environment for networking and knowledge exchange.

Key objectives include creating linkages between women in agribusiness and service providers, providing networking opportunities, and offering valuable insights into various value chains and financing options.

This year’s conference theme, “Women in Agribusiness: Navigating Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies,” highlights the importance of equipping women with the skills and knowledge needed to address the challenges posed by climate change in agriculture.

The conference will feature influential keynote speakers, including Monica Musonda of Java Foods, manufacturers of Ezee Noodles; Mercy Chisi Sakala of MC Sangwani General Suppliers; Audrey Chibuula of Makeni Seedlings; and Sylvia Banda of Sylvia Food Solutions.

As captains of industry, these speakers will share their insights on the critical role women play in driving agricultural innovation, enhancing food security, and promoting sustainable farming practices.

Their discussions will provide valuable perspectives on how women can lead agricultural transformation in the face of climate change.

In addition to the keynote addresses, the conference will include a series of panel discussions, workshops, and breakout sessions covering a wide range of topics relevant to women in agribusiness.

These topics will include innovative farming techniques that explore modern and sustainable practices to increase productivity while minimizing environmental impact.

Sessions on access to finance will focus on strategies to improve women’s access to financial resources, investment opportunities, and capital needed to expand their agribusiness ventures.

Market access and trade discussions will address the challenges women face in accessing local and international markets, offering potential solutions to enhance their market reach.

Furthermore, sessions on technology in agriculture will introduce participants to the latest technological advancements, showcasing how these innovations can be leveraged to enhance productivity and efficiency in the agricultural sector.

The Women in Agribusiness Conference represents a significant opportunity for women to gain knowledge, build networks, and explore new avenues for growth and development in the agricultural sector.

Reflecting on the event’s significance, the Media and Communications team of Women in Agribusiness stated, “We believe that empowering women in agribusiness is key to achieving sustainable agricultural development.

This conference provides a platform for women to learn, share ideas, and form partnerships that will drive positive change in the industry.”

“We are committed to creating a space where women can not only voice their challenges but also find actionable solutions,” the team continued.

“Our focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation this year is crucial, as women are at the frontline of these issues. By equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools, we can help build a more resilient agricultural sector.”
