The National Youth Tank has called on mining firms in the country to prioritize employing the youths and plough back to the communities through corporate social responsibility.
Addressing the media today, organization Executive Director Mumba Tebulu says there is need for mining companies to create internship programs at the universities and tap into young learners pursuing skills trainings.
Mr. Tebulu says since President Hakainde Hichilema came into power in August 2021 the mining sector has improved due to sound mining policies developed by the new Dawn government.
He has further urged the mining firms in the country to maximize the sourcing of local materials locally which will translate into creating businesses and suppliers.
