Government exploring possibilities of importing fuel from Angola.

Government says it is exploring possibilities of importing fuel from Angola.

Minister of Energy Director Petroleum Rodney Kalota says there are active engagements currently going on between the two governments.

Speaking during the Zambia chamber of commerce industry ZACCI energy breakfast in Lusaka today, Mr. Kalota says government is taking constant measures to ensure that there is a constant supply of fuel in the country.

Mr. Kalota also disclosed that government has has deliberate policy to invest in storage facility and there has been an identification of a firm to conduct feasibility study under Tazama pipelines to explore possibility of constructing a new pipeline.

And Energy Regulation Board Fossil Fuel Manager Chewe Kanwa has called on fuel service stations to adhere to rules and safety regulations.

Meanwhile ZACCI former President Geoffrey Sakulanda has urged government to give clarity on management of Tazama pipeline and conclude pressing issue of oil prices on the market.
